Bio

Neural Mass was formed in Montreal in 1995. That year, they recorded the album "Descent Into The Lower World".

In 2002, they released their second album "The Unbreakable Aqua-Mask of Europa". The album features guitarist Francis Lafortune playing on a track entitled "The Lamp". The rest of the album was recorded as a duo.

Soon after recording "The Unbreakable Aqua-Mask of Europa" , they began composing material for their next album "Sunshine Hill". The album follows a very loose concept/plotline. It is the story of 2 simple-minded individuals who get into deep trouble with a criminal organization, the police, women and various merchants while on a ''business'' trip abroad. The ''story'' ends with one of them prostituting himself to old ladies. After the basic tracks were recorded (drums / keyboards), the band sought out guest guitarists to help give the album a harder edge. The band released Sunshine Hill in 2003.

The seedy subject matter and the sometimes abrasive lyrics did not help the band to sign a record deal. Then again, Neural Mass has never been about compromise. The album received some airplay on prog-rock radio websites and was very well received by the critics who unanimously recognized the band's originality. Radio stations in Portugal and Turkey also began playing it on air.

The band then decided to re record some of the stronger songs from the first three albums with a more aggressive prog-metal approach along with two newer songs. The resulting album, Opposite Control, was released online and on CD in 2007. A live album called Playing for Fans was also made available online.

Rodrigue & Floyd are putting the finishing touches on a new album called "Final Warning". Filming will then resume for the accompanying videos.
